It's NOT about the PARTIES!!!

I'm not sure how to say this, or how to let you see, but it's as simple as the title makes it:  It's NOT about the PARTIES!!!

Really people, when you think about it, saying you're a Democrat or Republican means absolutely NOTHING!!!  Those terms have been used in a completely opposite sense from how they are used now.  And technically, being a Republican should mean you are for a Republic style government (which is what the US is and what each state is.).  Democrat is a harder word.  Technically you would be for democracy, but a pure democracy would have every person voting on every issue in order to get anything done.  It just doesn't work.  As for how the term "democracy" is used in everyday language, well...  It depends on who you are and where you live...  but generally it is used as a synonym for a republic-style government with representation and certain unalienable rights and the whole bit.

I digress, but for a good reason.  Those words you use to describe the "clique" you belong to, they don't mean what you say they do.  The parties don't even stand for the same things they used to.  Did you know that being "Liberal" 100 years ago is the same as being "Conservative" today?  Well, did you?

So, let me say it one more time, loud and clear: IT'S NOT ABOUT THE PARTIES!!!

Then what is it about?  Morals, ethics, Natural Law, Rule of Law, eternal and immutable Principles of proper action that are the basis for this country's existence.  There IS an universal standard that does NOT change against which we can ALWAYS measure our actions and the actions of our government.  Learn it and live it or lose it and say good-bye to Liberty.  Those are the only options.

Be an educated voter.  Learn the morals and principles that those you are voting for use to inform their decisions.  You are probably more likely to find someone you agree with by doing this than by voting along "party lines."

One more time, because I know it hasn't gotten through yet: IT IS straight-up, definitely NOT ABOUT THE here today, gone tomorrow, whatever gets us elected and keeps us in control PARTIES.  It just isn't.

I firmly believe this myself, but our country is so conditioned to thinking in the context of parties that, even when you don't want to, you find yourself thinking in that context and forming arguments, decisions, theories and what-not on the assumptions of that context.  QUESTION EVERY ASSUMPTION in your life.  Double check your reasoning for assumptions, then ask yourself WHY you made that assumption.  You may be surprised with what you find out about yourself and how your opinions change.  You may not change your opinion per say, but you will change the reasoning, logic, and supporting evidence you use to form those opinions.

Yeah, try that.  See how difficult it is.  See how your thinking changes and becomes more aware.  (See how I've ignored my own advice in this post and made some gross generalizations based on party-system-context based emotional thinking.)

Yes, I can be a hypocrite.  Yes, I can also be right.
